A positive impact for the climate and the environment

HMS strives to minimize the climate impact in our own operations and in the value chain.

We are focusing on reducing our carbon footprint where we have the greatest impact, replacing fossil energy and materials with renewable alternatives, as well as offsetting remaining emissions that have not yet been eliminated. Our climate-smart products are a part of the solution, and are making it possible for our customers to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon dioxide emissions.

Environment — Minimizing climate impact in our operations

Long-term sustainable business is conducted with the environment and climate in mind, and climate impact is one of HMS focus areas going forward. HMS primary climate impact comes from material extraction, production and transports. To guide material selection, suppliers and resource management, HMS has established an environmental policy.

Goal: 100% renewables

“The environment is one of the three focus areas in our 2025 strategy. As a company, we can offer a lot of sustainability gains for our customers as they can use our products to reduce service trips and optimize energy use.

But we can also do a lot in our own operations to reduce our carbon footprint.”

The goal is to reduce the CO2 emissions we generate in our company, also collaborating with other actions that help our planet.

Intesis participated in a tree-planting activity last year where 62 trees were planted. Pinyoner pine and dogwood seeds where planted to grow trees that will be transplant next year in the forests all over the region. HMS received a certificate from Life Climark confirming that 3.5 tons of CO2 will be fixed for the next 25 years.

Small things - big energy savings

HMS Networks has an ambitious sustainability agenda of reducing our carbon footprint. This means that all teams need to turn every stone to look for sustainability gains.

One team that has had this top of mind is the Anybus development department in Halmstad, Sweden. They develop world-leading Anybus industrial communication products which enable industrial machinery to communicate on any industrial network (hence the name Anybus).
